Lung Function testing with Independent Physiological Diagnostics

IPD Lung Function testing

IPD Lung Function testing

What is Lung function testing? Lung function testing is a group of simple, non-invasive assessments that measure how well your lungs work by analysing airflow, lung volume, and gas exchange. These tests help diagnose conditions such as asthma and COPD, monitor disease progression, and guide treatment plans.

Lung Function Tests Available at IPD

At Independent physiological diagnostics (IPD) we offer of two types of lung function tests: Spirometry and Fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO) Testing.

Spirometry

IPD performs spirometry to measure the maximal volume of air that an individual can inspire and expire with maximum effort. Our specialists ask you to take a deep breath and exhale forcefully into our specialist equipment.

Fractional Exhaled Nitric Oxide (FeNO) Testing

IPD measures the level of nitric oxide in your breath using FeNO testing, a marker for airway inflammation. Our team guides you to breathe steadily into a mouthpiece. FeNO testing is especially useful for diagnosing and monitoring asthma.

Bronchodilator Reversibility

Reversibility testing may be performed if an obstructive pattern is identified during spirometry. This test is carried out to determine whether the airway obstruction improves after administering a few puffs of bronchodilator medication.

Paediatric Lung Function Testing

IPD’s team is trained to support children and families through every step of the testing process. We create a calm, reassuring environment and explain each stage clearly, helping young patients feel comfortable and ensuring accurate results.
